The ' Funky Doctor' has been with Tower of Power since its first recording, East Bay Grease. His work on Baritone Sax is the punctuation mark on Tower's signature sound.

Along with Emilio Castillo, Doc is the principle songwriter for the band.

Since 1997, Doc has also brought his compositions to fruition through Strokeland Records. Strokeland has relased several 'Strokeland Superband' CD's; projects that involve members of Tower of Power, both past and present, as well as other fine musicians and vocalists.
