12" single rarity: it's as simple as that
It's as simple as that - 12" single

This 12" single of "It's As Simple As That" features Michael Jeffries on vocals and was never released on a Tower of Power album or compact disc.

Several years later it was recorded by Huey Lewis and the News on the album/compact disc Fore!

The song appears on the 2-disc Tower of Power Anthology collection released in 1999.

Tower of Power - East Bay Grease

This CD is a pirate compilation, released in the late 90's on Castle Records, Made in Japan (at least that's what the art says. This 12-track CD takes tracks from four Tower of Power CD's.

David Letterman Show Appearance

Very unusual clip. Letterman plugs the CD, Power, and the band plays Believe It, which would appear on their next CD, Monster on a Leash. Personnel are in transition. Ellis Hall has left the band, and Emilio is singing lead. Lenny Pickett is filling in on lead tenor. The performance appears to actually be Paul Shaffer's band, as rhythm section, with the Tower of Power horns.

After watching this, visit the Tom Bowes page, and view a subsequent performance from Japan, at the Bottom Line. Also includes Lenny Pickett on lead tenor sax.
